2011 Auspicious Chinese Wedding Dates

2011 is the Year of the Rabbit on the Chinese calendar. Starting on February 3, 2011 and going until January 22, 2010, the Year of the Rabbit is meant to be a very good time for couples to get married. This is because the Rabbit is seen as a peaceful symbol of Chinese astrology and it is often associated with good relationships and friendships. As such, 2011 is indeed a popular year in which couples can choose to get married.

For many Chinese couples, the date of the marriage is very important. According to traditional Chinese astrological beliefs, certain dates are more auspicious than others, and so choosing the wrong date can adversely affect the day’s events, or worse, can be a bad omen for the entire marriage.

It’s no surprise, then, that many Chinese couples decide to visit a traditional fortune teller or temple master, who can give them a list of good dates for the marriage. Because there are a limited number of dates, and so the list of weekend dates is quite short, most couples must book well in advance if they want to hold their wedding on an auspicious weekend date. For example, there are only 13 auspicious wedding dates that fall on weekend days in 2011.
